SoL Research Greenhouse

The first Research Greenhouse was held in Cambridge in October 1999. The forums will be scheduled biennially. Please check our events calendar to see if one is coming up in the near future.

The Greenhouse is a two-day working conference for SoL members and special invitees from across the globe. The goal of the forum is to stimulate the research activities of SoL, share ongoing work of researchers, and consider recent advances in research, practice and capacity building in the fields of knowledge management, organizational learning, and organizational development and change.

A major component of SoL's activities is learning and change projects that involve participation from the practitioner, consultant, and researcher communities. The Greenhouse is aimed at cultivating such research projects and building relationships that will facilitate these sorts of collaborative efforts.

A unique feature of the Greenhouse is the "germination" session, in which small groups explore topical concepts and/or research ideas, and have unstructured generative time for developing research.

The gathering is a great way for members to participate in knowledge sharing within the SoL community.

Past Greenhouse Events

SoL Research Greenhouse • September 2001
A Conference on Collaborative Research in Learning, Knowledge, Capacity Building, and Change September 20-21, 2001 in Hartford, CT, sponsored by The Society for Organizational Learning and Pratt & Whitney. The purpose of this meeting was to bring together a balanced and dynamic group of researchers and practitioners in order to advance collaborative research in Organizational Learning, Knowledge Management, and Capacity Building.

Couldn't attend in person? We have created a virtual extended meeting at the Greenhouse web-site! Here you'll find session proposals, notes and video from selected sessions, and speakers' presentation materials. You can participate in interactive discussion of the Greenhouse topics. Our aim is that you can be a genuine participant in the Greenhouse, even if you did not attend physically.
