SoL Jeans started as a call to bring together and build capacity for young and emerging leaders at the Global Forum in Vienna in September, 2005.
A collective energy emerged to create a platform to:
- Share ideas, learning and tools from across all the great networks we are involved in (SoL, Team Academy, Chaos Pilots, The Natural Step, Pioneers of Change, etc.)
- Build capacity for young and emerging leaders through co-mentorship
- Find opportunities to DO together rather than just to dialogue. To share project ideas and initiatives and to find opportunities to take some positive, concrete actions together for good!
Why SoL 'Jeans'? Jeans are inclusive. Almost everyone owns a pair. And, jeans are about not being afraid to get down in the dirt a bit and make things happen!

SoL Jeans "Gets Down in the Dirt"
The SoL Jeans group Gathered in Denmark May 25 through 28 to “Get Down in the Dirt” and share our practices, challenges and successes. Twenty eight of us came together for a four-day workshop that combined both intense large and small group work, with informal spaces for connecting and physical labour on the farm.
The workshop was a co-creation of all participants. Facilitators included Pamela Paquin Hall and Timo Karjalainen, with support from Emmanuel Sciara, Carsten Ohm, Ole Qvist Sorensen and many others. Read more details and view pictures in this report from the SoL Jeans meeting in Denmark.
