Get your wings at the SoL Academy!
October 13-17 - Seattle, Washington
Capacity-building workshops led by experts in Organizational Learning and Profound Change
Have you ever flown on an airplane? Would you want to get on one where the company just didn't have time to do the maintenance? Or to keep their pilots and flight attendants trained on the latest procedures? Probably not. Boeing and the airline companies have a rather stark minimum measure of performance success - getting the aircraft, passengers and staff safely from one point to the next. Of course, we're all quite pleased as customers when they can do it on time, with our baggage and at a great price, too. Over decades, the real cost of air travel has declined. It is safer, faster, quieter, and causes less environmental impact than it did. And we expect more improvement! Fortunately, Boeing has a much higher standard than the minimum and engages in continuous performance improvement processes --
or what we might otherwise characterize as learning!
By contrast, many of us are probably not quite as disciplined about keeping our professional "maintenance" and training current. Whether we need to tune-up our skills or to upgrade our tools, practitioners of organizational learning who walk their talk are always in a learning mode.
- Build capacity
- Network
- Apply what you learn immediately
- Stay close to home
SoL wants to be a carrier on your learning journey. We're pleased to announce the second SoL Academy, co-sponsored by Boeing, in the Seattle area October 13-17th. It's an opportunity for you and your colleagues to practically and efficiently refresh or add to your organizational learning capacity. You can attend for as little as a half day, or sign up for a week's worth of capacity building modules, offered by a diverse group of SoL members. In addition, there will also be opportunities to build your professional networks by interacting with other participants in the Academy, including an evening reception during the week.
If you can't attend the Academy and are interested in offering one or more of these workshops in your own organization, we can do that too. Contact us for more information.
We look forward to your participation in the SoL Academy. Thank you for helping us to create a network of local practitioners through which we can continue to build our collective intelligence.
