Communities and Consortia

SoL is a network of communities of inquiry and practice focused on concepts, tools, and methodologies that create the capacity for profound innovation and change.

Communities are organized around interest areas such as the Sustainability Consortium and the Youth Education Network; geography, for example, SoL France and SoL Sweden; and membership constituencies, which include our organizational, consultant, research, and connections members.

All communities are committed to SoL’s principles, but vary in terms of focus, activities, and membership criteria. SoL’s minimal infrastructure is designed to provide basic coordination among the communities while allowing for easy movement of people and information throughout the network.

Marilyn Darling, Founding SoL Consultant Member

"My continued active participation in SoL is very important to me personally and professionally.

In addition to keeping current in the field and continuing to build relationships with my professional colleagues, I count several members of SoL among my very closest friends.

My sense of having a place in the community is, not surprisingly, directly related to how much of myself I invest in it."
