SoL's home, as of November 2004, is 25 First Street, Suite 414, Cambridge, MA, 02141. The office is in the old Davenport Furniture Company building complex. It is easiest to enter the complex lobby on either First Street or Thorndike Street. Our offices are on the 4th Floor, but there is only one elevator bank that will bring you to our suite. Please ask for directions at the concierge desk in the lobby.
Driving Directions:
From the North, South, or Logan Airport:
Taking a cab is the fastest and most practical way to get to SoL from Logan Airport.
If you do drive, note that due to Big Dig construction, road configurations in the Boston area are in a constant state of change. For the most up-to-date driving directions please visit the Big Dig Web site's traffic page and then use the following link to map a driving route.
Directions from the West:
Take Route 90 (the Mass. Turnpike) to Exit 18, Allston/Cambridge (note that the exit is from the left lane of the highway). Go through the toll booth and bear right, following signs for Cambridge and Somerville. Proceed through two sets of lights and go straight over the River Street bridge. At the end of the bridge, turn right onto Memorial Drive East.
At the first split, stay in the left lane and proceed over a bridge marked "cars only." At the second split, stay left again and go under the bridge marked "cars only." Move immediately into the right lane and bear right at the last split. Follow the road around a wide left turn and under the Longfellow Bridge. At this point, Memorial Drive turns into Edwin Land Boulevard. At the second set of lights, turn left by the CambridgeSide Galleria onto Charles Street. At the first set of lights, turn right onto First Street. 25 First Street (the Davenport Building) is three blocks down on the left.
Directions from Route 2:
Take Route 2 East and follow signs for Watertown/Boston and Route 3. You'll pass Alewife train station on the right. At the first rotary, stay to the left and continue on Route 3. After approximately two miles, you'll come to an intersection with signs for Soldiers Field Road/Memorial Drive. Turn left onto Memorial Drive East (the Charles River will be on your right). After approximately 1 mile, you'll come to a series of three road splits. Follow the directions above for "From the West" starting with "At the first split."
Public Transportation:
The Lechmere subway stop on the MBTA's Green line is a two-minute walk from the Davenport Building. Follow the signs to Cambridge Street. Cross Cambridge Street and go to First Street. 25 First Street (the Davenport Building) is one block down on the right. For more information on bus service to the CambridgeSide Galleria and the Kendall Square area, please contact the MBTA at 617-722-3200 or www.mbta.com.
Parking:
Park at the Spring Street garage, which is one block before the Davenport Building on First Street. Parking here costs $1 per hour. If this garage is full, you can park at the CambridgeSide Galleria, which costs about $2 per hour but $20 for five hours or more.
