SoL North America Project Incubator
September 27, 2013 | 8:30 AM - 2:30 PM | Doubletree Bedford Glen, Bedford, MA

The Project Incubator is an opportunity to crystallize and advance a project of importance to you or to help other members of this special learning community to do so. Participants at the Incubator will be experienced and talented. What better group to help you design a prototype for a project that’s been on your mind or to assist you in identifying the next set of action steps or the overall strategy for an effort you already have in motion?

Furthermore, SoL North America will be getting behind these projects too. For example, over the course of the next year, we’re likely to focus a SoL NA Community Spotlight on your project, which will bring the SoL North America community together to help you think through your opportunities and challenges on your Incubator-tested project. And, the Incubator is going to be an opportunity for you to recruit people to your project, to build a team that will help you turn it into a reality.

So, the Incubator promises to be a fulfilling learning experience with personal implications for some activity of importance to you.

If you don’t have a burning project that’s on your mind, don’t worry!  The Incubator will provide you with an opportunity to put on your thinking cap and use your consulting and
facilitation skills to help others move their work ahead and, possibly, to join in the action.

If you are considering to initiate a project...

Here are some thoughts about how to make the most of the experience:

Your project is likely to have more magnetism for the Incubator community if it’s something you have a lot of passion for.  In other words, you’re going to do this whether SoL North America is involved or not!  Possibilities for good projects:

  • You’ve been thinking about a project for a long time --something you know you want to be central to-- the Incubator can be a great place to bring it closer to are already hard at work on a project, the Incubator is a great place to let people know what you’ve done, what you’ve learned and what you’re struggling with.
  • You will need to enroll people into your project?  What will you say that will inspire people to join your team and donate their energy and resources?
  • Imagine your project as being completely successful:  what impact would that have?
