Community Purpose:
SoL Austria - the Society for Organizational Learning Austria is a national platform set up to generate, apply and distribute knowledge and findings of fundamental processes of change in organizations.
Driven by the desire of organizations, research institutions and organizational advisers to establish a network and series of local platforms dealing with the "organizational learning" approach, regional and national SoL platforms are rapidly being set up all over the world with the professional support and expertise of SoL, which was formed in Boston in 1997.
What all of these platforms share is the desire and vision to build up a global network of organizations, research institutions and organizational consultants that want to work together to develop knowledge and skills in the field of "organizational learning". The key underlying issue is how to promote the capability of organizations to redefine themselves, to rethink and further develop their own assumptions and to square these off with changing realities as an alternative to improving their products and services through adjustments to existing assumptions.
Aims and services of SoL Austria
The quality assured development and diffusion of the "organizational learning" approach is one of the main objectives of SoL Austria.
This occurs at three levels:
As a broker for research, training and consulting projects SoL Austria initiates and supports schemes for developing and implementing innovative work on the "organizational learning" approach.
Events such as workshops, seminars and symposia are held to exchange experience and present projects at national and international level and to develop innovative learning forms.
The SoL Austria platform is deployed at a national and international level to build up a network of different profit and non-profit making organizations (research institutions, consultants and companies).
