SoL Finland - SoL Conference 2006!

SoL Finland together with Team Academy organized the SoL Conference 2005 event, which was held in November 2005 in Espoo, Finland. Feedback surpassed expectations and encouraged SoL Finland to organize another conference. SoL Conference 2006 will be in Helsinki 13th - 14th of November 2006.
The keynote speaker is Marcial Losada from Brasil. He is a co-founder and executive director of Meta Learning, a consulting organization that specializes in team productivity. His presentation is based on scientific research; what separates efficient and successful teams from bad teams and how happiness affects teams' work.

Membership Structure:
Organizational members
Organizational membership requirements:
- Agreement to be bound by and act in accordance with the
purpose and principles of SoL, and be bound by its Constitution
and Articles of Organization.
- Organizational members must be willing and able to implement
and practice the theories, methods, and practices of SoL and
participate in their development.
- Organizational members are expected to understand the contributive
as well as transactional aspects of the relationship including
a willingness to document and share learning from their involvement
in SoL learning initiatives.
- In addition, organizational members are invited to designate
two liaison officers to represent them for the purpose of
bringing into their organizations new methods and practices.

Individual members
Individual members can include practioners, consultants
or researchers.
Membership requirements:
- Participating with commitment
- Willingness to share and acquire new knowledge
- Deals with organizational learning issues in work or elsewhere
- Possibility to take part in joint SoL projects
- Research members are expected to share research knowledge
in the SoL Network

Current Projects & Initiatives:
The themes for the three SoL Finland research groups have
emerged from within SoL Finland community.
Leadership 2015 was established February 2002
and meets once a month. The team leader is Ralf

The purpose of the group is to:
- offer Finnish leadership practioners and researchers an
arena to promote, reflect and engage in a dialogue on leadership
theories and best practices
- to support latest leadership research and to offer the knowledge
to Finnish companies
- aims to cooperate with other SoL Community leadership groups
in the near future
- book on leadership before spring 2004
Values & Ethics / Sustainability group was
established in February 2002. This group has been concentrating
more on dialogue and reflection than traditional research even
though individual members have their own research projects. The
team leader is Riitta

The purpose of this group is to create new knowledge and understanding
of Values, Ethics and Sustainability by the topics they find
important. The main focus during 2002 and 2003 had been Corporate
Social Responsibility related issues.
SoL Wellness Team assesses, examines and discusses
current trends and issues that support the success of work organizations
and the well-being of people in them.The SoL Wellness Team had
three meetings in Oulu during the spring of 2003. Meetings have
been attended by people interested in wellness at work from
various facets of life. All meetings have been interactive in
nature. Discussions have centered around aspects related to
wellness The Sol Finland/Wellness-team strives to promote discussion
on the meaning of human aspects of life for the wellbeing of
organizations (for example in focusing on humanistic and holistic
view of human beings) The team leader is Anne

SoL Finland corporate members dialogue group was
established in January 2003. The group consist of company members
who are actively developing organizational learning. The main
goal and purpose of this group is to support and inspire group
members to develop their companies to be learning organizations,
to develop Finnish organizations and to learn from each other
and together by sharing and reflecting. The group has had three
meetings during spring 2003 with shared cases from the host
companies to initiate dialogue; in Metso, Finnish Military Forces
and Outokumpu. The next meeting of this group is scheduled for
September 3. at 14:00. The team leader is Liisa
