Submission Guidelines

The purpose of this community site is to promote communication, collaboration, information sharing, and knowledge creation among subscribers of Reflections, The SoL Journal. In the spirit of building a valuable learning environment together, I agree to abide by the following Rules of Engagement in my use of the site:

  • I will behave in a way consistent with the purpose and principles of the Society for Organizational Learning (SoL), and make sure that my contributions to the site are related to the field of Organizational Learning.

  • If I choose to post Reader Comments, I will provide information about myself in the profile directory, and update the information as necessary.

  • I will use my Reader Comments to facilitate dialogue and interaction among forum readers.

  • I will limit my comments to topics relevant to the particular article on which I am commenting.

  • I will refrain from efforts to send advertising or other solicitations from any member of the community. The site will be considered a commercial-free zone.

  • I will offer Reader Comments only in the spirit of constructive criticism. I will not disparage authors or other readers when challenging their opinions.

  • I will conduct myself with good manners and be respectful of other subscribers. I will not post any abusive, inaccurate, defamatory, obscene, or illegal content. I will not harass, threaten, embarrass, or otherwise distress another subscriber.

  • I will proofread my Reader Comments for accurate spelling, punctuation, capitalization, and grammar.

  • I will not post any comments that infringe on the rights of others, including copyright, the right to privacy, and the right not to be libeled or slandered.

  • I understand that any comments I make could be excerpted or reproduced by Reflections or SoL.

  • I will immediately notify the moderator of any content that fails to comply with these rules of engagement.

  • I understand that I am legally and ethically responsible for any content I create on the sie.

I understand that failure to comply with any of these rules, or violation of the site policies listed below, may constitute grounds for removal from the site.

Reflections is not obligated to screen Reader Comments, but reserves the right to review and edit or delete any postings that are found to be unacceptable. Persistent offenders will be blocked from posting.

Privacy Policy

You determine how visible you are to other members of the community when you choose a visibility setting for your profile. SoL staff members may update profile information about users, from time to time, but will not increase your visibility beyond the option you have selected. SoL will use personal information for administrative purposes (for example, to contact you about your involvement in SoL, to organize events, and to communicate with the community). Additionally, impersonal user data is collected and used in the aggregate for statistical tracking purposes. We will not sell or otherwise release your information to outside parties. Users are members of SoL, subscribers to SoL services (e.g. "Connections"), and members of the public who have registered and confirmed a valid email address. You may not sell or otherwise release information about other users. Where e-mail addresses are visible, these are for your private use only and may not be sold or used in any way for bulk mailings, untargeted promotional campaigns, SPAM, and the like. The site uses "cookies" to remember your login information. You may disable this in your browser if you prefer.

Warranties

This is a community site and the information here is provided with no warranty. Although SoL administrative staff may review user contributions periodically, our primary concern is whether the user contribution is relevant to our field. The staff makes no effort to judge whether any user contribution is correct, valid, or useful in any context; caveat reader.

Under US law, you retain copyright on all material you create on this site, unless you choose specifically to renounce it. In posting material to this site, you authorize other members who have access to it to make personal and customary use of the material, including creating links to it or reposting it to other areas of the site, but not otherwise to reproduce or disseminate it unless you give persmission for such dissemination. You may not submit copyrighted material to public areas if you do not personally hold the copyright to the material, unless the submission constitutes a Fair Use, or is in the public domain.
