Thomas Sullivan

Bio

Thomas Sullivan has spent 20 years as a consultant, facilitator, coach and lecturer on designing, leading and implementing personal and organization change efforts in distinct settings across the globe.  In addition to his membership and consulting association with SoL North America, Thomas currently holds the position of Discipline Lead for Leadership Development with Hult International Business School where he also is a Leadership Development coach for MBA students.

Thomas has a broad base of experience in the design and delivery implementation of large-scale leadership development and coaching efforts for international organizations and global companies, including, DISH Networks, Aspentech, Merrimack Pharmaceuticals, BP, Pemex, Cemex, Biogen, the US Forest Service and the American Cancer Society.  In the past six years, Thomas has facilitated leadership development programs and coached teams and managers at all levels of leadership (Emerging Leader Programs to Director Level Programs) with the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB).

In this work with the World Bank, IMF and IFC, Thomas has delivered five-day programs for more than 2,000 leaders in these organizations, across the globe. The programs’ content is focused on aiding leaders develop their individual and collective capacity, range and repertoire to lead more effectively.  These programs are remarkable successful, consistently receiving very high ratings from participants in program evaluations across the years.  

Finally, Thomas has a broad experience in designing and leading train-the-trainer certification for programs based around the core 5 Disciplines and Organizational Learning.  His approach is to work with clients’ strengths to create the lasting change they want to bring about while building their capability of the client organization to negotiate the demands of our changing world.  His work includes coaching leadership at the individual and team levels to have breakthrough results in performance in the short-to-medium time frame.

Thomas is bilingual (Spanish and English) and works with equal ease in Spanish and English, with clients in Latin America, Spain and the United States. He has lectured and taught at the

Tufts University Fletcher School of Diplomacy, the Arthur D. Little School of Management, and the US Naval War College. 

Thomas has held senior consulting and management positions with Arthur D. Little and Innovation Associates.  Prior to that, he held a management position with an international training firm, where he managed sales and operations as well as developed and conducted training programs focusing on personal transformation and effectiveness. He has a BA degree from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
